Honorable Mention In Judgment We Stand Jeff Meyer He sees himself: a good man. Fallen down sometimes, and then rising, taking the road, taking the weight of the world on his shoulders again. But we see him, too. When the way is hard, he spreads his load. Honesty: a virtue only if it helps on the road. Tell a white lie? What the hell--we'll never be here again; only if someone gets hurt is an untruth a sin. .We will watch as the Good Man reaps the crop he has sewed as we ourselves stand and once again take scythes in hand, tend the bitter fields we've let grow, and cry for the chaff to praise each as a Good Man. |
